Rosie Gillam – Project Manager
I have been working in community renewables since 2015, and volunteering as a Director, organiser and gardener with Ffynnon since 2020. I applied for the role of Project Manager for Ffynnon in autumn 2023 and continue to volunteer as a grower, Director and sometimes organiser. I’m passionate about using the tools we have to increase local skills, resilience and confidence to provide for ourselves, and to set up the physical and social systems we need in this time of great change. I’m also into growing new skills of my own in food production, natural medicines and working in non-hierarchical systems.
My roles include:
- Collaborate with others on the vision and direction of the company
- Make links with other organisations to collaborate and strengthen our work
- Seek and manage funding for our projects
- Oversee project workflows and budgets
- Manage the build process for our two buildings at the Farmstart, Abercych
- Help run gardening sessions at local schools in Welsh

Peter Duncan – Grower Manager
I’m Pete and I have been working for Ffynnon as Grower Manager since January 2024.
I grew up on a smallholding in South Pembrokeshire and began working in agriculture in 2003. I qualified in Countryside Management and Conservation in 2015 and have been working in conservation particularly related to agriculture since. I have worked in most aspects of farming and horticulture and continue to run a smallholding with my family.
My roles include:
- Supporting the community gardens and allotments
- Running the Farmstart programme
- Supporting the vermi-composting enterprise
- Maintaining the community orchards

Tessa Jane – Coordinator
I have been running a family business with my husband since 2011, providing solar power, lighting and education at events. Wanting to diversify, I applied for the co-ordinator job with Ffynnon and have loved getting involved with the community. One of my passions is gardening, particularly medicinal herbs, I love being outdoors and creating change from the grassroots.
My roles include:
- Collaborate with volunteers to run celebratory and educational events
- Coordinate and help to expand our education provision to schools
- Assist the Grower Manager to expand our growers network
- Work with other staff to manage volunteers and improve volunteer experience
- Assist managers in designing and implementing the Farmstart programme

Ross Lowe – Coordinator
Having a background in websites, business, merchandise, and marketing, I have also spent 6 years working in the care sector, supporting patients with MS. After which, I opted for more social roles, in hospitality and events, eventually working within my local community as a coordinator with Ffynnon.
Working with Ffynnon has been amazing—it’s given me the flexibility to manage my family life while working on projects that grow and improve every year. I get to use my skills and knowledge but get to keep learning too, but the best part for me is bringing the community together to connect over healthy food and the occasional live music.
My roles include:
- Website management and maintenance
- Marketing and promotional activities
- Mailing lists, newsletters, and communications
- Coordination of courses, workshops, and events
- Volunteer management and support
- Safeguarding officer

Helen Wragg – Finance Officer
I’m Helen, I have worked in Accounts and Finance in various roles since the early 1990s, including 27 years working with my husband running our own business before we decided to step back and semi-retire. My role at Ffynnon is my first with a non-profit and I am really enjoying the change of focus. I really enjoy working with the rest of the team and feel very lucky to have this role at Ffynnon.
My role includes:
- Keeping the financial records up to date
- Payroll
- Reporting to granting authorities
- Purchase Ledger
- Helping with analysis of financial data

Jo Denham – Community Garden Coordinator
I spend part of my time on our family farm producing beef, calves, live poultry, fruit and vegetables, and part time as a Community Garden Coordinator and Tree Nursery Manager for Ffynnon CIC. I have worked in regenerative agriculture and volunteer management in community-focused eco-restoration projects for nearly a decade. I originally trained in Philosophy, and nowadays have skills and passions in facilitation, agroforestry, rewilding, project management, and horticulture, as well as a great love of playing music.
My role includes:
- Providing the various community gardens and allotments with the support they need
- Setting up a local provenance tree nursery
