About Ffynnon

Ffynnone Community Resilience C.I.C (Ffynnon)

Ffynnon is a non-profit organisation based in north east Pembrokeshire which aims to support and build community resilience, preparing to take on today’s challenges and those of the future.

We are concerned about our dependence on fragile systems to provide the basic necessities of life. We have seen increased cost and decreased availability of food, shelter, and fuel, and we are seeing the impact of climate change on food production and damage to infrastructure and housing. Supermarket supply chains were unable to deliver during Covid, there is a housing crisis in the county, fuel and food prices mean working residents are having to choose which of these necessities to buy, and use of Cardigan foodbank has rocketed. We want to support and coordinate local people’s efforts to build strong systems which serve the local community.

Our Objectives

We want our local area to be immune to the increasing prices of food and fuel, able to deal with the impacts of climate change, and to be able to adapt when global supply chains falter.

We want to build systems locally which sustain us and help local residents and nature thrive, despite the challenges to come.

We want to build food and energy security for all local residents, and security from flooding. Good food and a warm, dry, secure home should be accessible to everyone.

We want to build systems and ways of communicating that let everybody have a voice, empower people to act on the issues that matter to them, and enable us to make informed decisions together..

There are so many skills locally, and rich local assets that we want to help develop and connect those things for the common good.

We all love the country around us and want to enhance nature and protect ecosystems from pollution and degradation
