Ffynnon Farmstart Launch

On the 29th March 2024 Ffynnon launched the new Farmstart programme at Clynfyw Care Farm

The Farmstart launch event was an afternoon of information stalls, activities and talks. Everyone smiled through the rain and the children got muddy!

Ffynnon volunteers played music while “Caffi’r Ffynnon” served homemade cakes and hot drinks to warm people up and “BlueGreenCymru” got the young ones baking bread on the fire and creating clay tree spirits. As people browsed the information, played ‘Name that Calf’ and ‘Guess how many Worms’, others braved the rain to learn about medicinal herbs with Salena Walker.

Rosie, the project manager at Ffynnon, introduced the talks as well as the new name and logo. Then Pete, the Farmstart Manager, introduced the Farmstart and gave a talk on ‘The importance of integrating livestock and horticulture in farming’. Callum from Save the Teifi on future plans of the campaign, Vicky Mollar on ‘The power of community to initiate major change’, Paul Jennings on ‘The central role of community building in permaculture’, Dafydd Jones on the ‘National Forest of Wales Scheme’ and Neil from Cwm Arian on their new project ‘Hwb Dysgu’r Tir’.

The launch was successful in many aspects of Ffynnon including all the current projects and gardens, a seed swap and an introduction to the new staff, site, Farmstart project and energy!
