Ysgol Bro Ingli School

Since June 2023 Years 5 and 6 of Ysgol Bro Ingli have been learning with Child Of The Earth C.I.C about growing food, their local environment and working together as a community at the Ffynnone Resilience Field Of Beans community garden in Blaenffos. This is part of a wider project run by Egni Coop set up to work with schools to reduce energy use, use solar power and learn about climate change, the project is also partially funded by the Sustainable Development Fund.

The visits from the school to the ‘Field Of Beans’ have been leading up to their ‘Harvest Festival’ Which this year will be held at the Ffynonne Resilience community garden hosting a range of healthy and educational Halloweeny activities including:

• Garden tours visiting bee-hives, herb spirals, garden beds and polytunnels.
• Lots of harvesting.
• A very fresh salad making contest.
• Pick your own pumpkin!
• and a Meet & Greet with Ottis!
