A big thank you to James who has worked extremely hard to erect our wonderful shed ready for the start of the next growing session, it looks wonderful and will be well used.\u00a0 Accessing the plots have had a boost thanks to Elisha who has successfully applied for a\u00a0grant to improve the main path way through the allotment, much needed and greatly appreciated by all at Pen Y Foidr.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”4034″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Gardening does not stop when ground conditions aren\u2019t conducive to working with the soil and a group from Pen Y Foidr have been very busy attending workshops aimed at\u00a0improving the surrounding area. They have been led expertly by Caz and are undertaking to create an area that is able to support the needs of the local Fauna and Flora whilst encouraging engagement in our natural environment.\u00a0 There is much to look forward too.<\/p>\n
We welcome a new member, Jake, to both Cilgerran and Pen Y Foidr and the wonderful ideas he has brought with him to design a HOPE garden at the allotments, its idea will be to provide an area to meet, contemplate, and enjoy the wonders of nature.\u00a0 Although in the design stage we are excited to see what will transpire. Maintenance is on going and the ditch work around the Polytunnels seems to be working and providing the necessary diversion of water. There will be continued group discussion and implementation of drainage to enhance the allotments all year-round use.<\/p>\n
Over the coming year the allotment group is busy working on providing an open day (date not yet confirmed) as well as planning to run courses that will be advertised in later newsletters.<\/p>\n
